Professor Charlotte Hanlon, a psychiatrist and global mental health researcher at the University of Edinburgh, specialises in interventions to improve outcomes for people with mental health conditions in low- and middle-income countries. In Ethiopia, she examined conceptualisations, epidemiology and public health impacts of maternal depression. She supports an ongoing programme of work to co-develop and evaluate acceptable and scalable interventions for maternal mental health in Ethiopia, including for women with severe mental health conditions.
