Hajara B. Huma is a Mental Health Nurse with several years of clinical experience. Through her work with the CHIME team and collaborating with a wide range of international experts, she developed a strong interest in Maternal and Perinatal Mental Health. She co-led the CHIME feasibility trial in The Gambia from the year 2016 to 2022 and now serves as a Scientific Officer at MRCG on the same project, supporting coordination, intervention delivery, and project logistics.

Hajara is currently pursuing an MSc in Global Mental Health with the University of Essex. Under Mam Jarra’s leadership, she also serves as Secretary General of the Gambia Alliance for Maternal Mental Health, contributing to national efforts to strengthen Maternal Mental health care and Psychosocial Support.
