Dr. Stefani Du Toit is a Senior Researcher at the Institute for Life Course Health Research within the Department of Global Health at Stellenbosch University. Her work primarily focuses on public health research aimed at improving the wellbeing and health of children, adolescents, and caregivers in high-adversity, low-resource settings. She has extensive experience in planning, implementing, and managing research studies across multiple countries and contexts. Her doctoral thesis examined adolescent mental health in the context of adversity, and she has contributed significantly to evidence synthesis efforts for organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF. These contributions include developing guidelines on mental health promotive and preventive interventions for adolescents and generating evidence on Universal Progressive Home Visiting programs for child and maternal health.
